We live waaaayyyy down in the southwest corner of the state, which is great most of the time. That is most of the time except when it comes time for the state tournament. A team of six or seven with a team manager traveling to Denver and staying two nights runs several hundred dollars. Sometimes teams choose not to attend the state tournament because of the cost. Donations to the to the travel fund, designated for the state tournament, are appreciated and will be divided between the teams attending the state tournament in Denver in April.
    The international tournament is in May in Knoxville, TN. Teams qualify for this tournament by placing first or second in the state tournament. Travel and the tournament food/lodging/registration package cost several thousand dollars and are the responsibility of the team. Contributions to this fund will be divided between teams attending the international competition. If no teams qualify, the money will be carried forward to the next year's competition. In 2011, four teams qualified.
